The Club

"I'd like to have the opportunity of welcoming you as a member of our friendly yacht club" says past Commodore Peter Hunter.

Founded in 1990 Port Solent Yacht Club has operated in Port Solent Marina for some 16 years providing a point of focus principally to Sail and Power boat owners berthing in the Marina. We are not limited, however, to drawing our membership exclusively from Port Solent Berth holders and we extend a warm welcome to all boat owners who might wish to benefit from an active involvement with our Solent based Club.

We organise and runs a full program of events throughout the year. Activities include local Rallies, informal Meets and Cross Channel (cruise in company) Flotillas. During the Winter months several social events are held in and around the Marina complex and a number of Sunday morning meetings are held at which a variety of talks and demonstrations are presented by both members and guest speakers.

During the forthcoming year we have booked the Quayside for these Sunday get togethers and this affords members the opportunity to meet in the Bar afterwards and the option of staying on for Lunch.

The club's activities and administration are organised and managed by the club's Officers, Officials and Committee. To identify the current incumbents who were elected at the most recent AGM please view the ‘Who’s who’.

All club members are invited to make suggestions on the conduct of the club or its activities to any officer, official or other committee member. The committee meets about 6 or 8 times per year and if any member is willing to serve on the committee they should nominate themselves in accordance with the rules for election at the next AGM which normally takes place in November.
