Port Solent Yacht Club | Photo Gallery | Yarmouth Rally 14 & 15 May 2011

RALLY REPORT.

I took over this rally at the last minute from Cliff. He is planning to bring his new boat down from Scotland as soon as possible and is busy making his arrangements.

Anyway I managed to get 11 boats to meet in Yarmouth on a fairly cold and windy weekend. We all met on the old outer green pontoon which was non walk ashore, this meant we all had to blow up our dinghies and start our outboards, all part of the fun of sailing !!!

Saturday evening saw a total of 27 people on and around our catamaran Duet, with this number of people she was very low in the water so I transferred some people off onto the pontoon, we all had a jolly time meeting some new members and consuming plenty of food and drink !!

Sunday a small group of us did the Yar river walk up to Shalfleet one side of the river then back the other side via a nice coffee stop on the way.

For Sunday lunch a group of us had a splendid roast carvery in the Yacht club on Yarmouth sea front.

Had an exciting sail back to Port Solent in the afternoon, unfortunately arrived at fairly low water and had to wait for several locks before we could enter.

To some up I would say that we all had a good week end ..
