PSYC Chichester Rally 18th to 21st April - Pikorua

Twelve boats and four cars attended the Chichester rally. Friday evening rain put paid to our ‘Rally drinks and pizzas on the grass near M pontoon’ so four boats volunteered to host the event. Thanks to Roger Leaman for collecting the Pizzas and to Gite, Pompey Lass, Bright Future and Astrid for hosting – a great evening was had by all and the pizzas were as delicious as ever! Pompey Lass took the prize for the Party Boat – staying up until after 11pm.

Saturday morning saw the sun returning, so a group of us walked to Itchenor, with a stop off for coffee at Birdham Pool. Some went to the Ship pub, others to the Quarterdeck Cafe for lunch, before sauntering back to Chichester marina in good time for drinks at CYC, before dinner at the Boathouse. Long wait for drink ….. even longer wait for food …. compensated by several free bottles of wine, but we won’t be returning.

On Sunday morning the rain cleared just in time for a very pleasant walk into Chichester, along the canal path. Ducks, coots, moorhens and nesting swans were photographed. The Crate and Apple did us proud, with a sumptuous roast dinner and excellent service! We will definitely be back! On Sunday evening we met up again for final drinks in the bar at CYC.
