Tidal Data
Standard Port - Southampton
Double High Water occurs at or near Springs and there is a stand which can last as long as two hours at other times.
Skippers unfamiliar with the Hamble should note the double high tide (or stand) means the ebb tide has to complete its cycle in 3-4 hours instead of the usual 5 + hours resulting in the ebb rate being significantly greater than the preceding flood tide. Great care should be exercised when manoeuvring on the first flush of the ebb especially during or close to Springs.
